What is BRCA?

BRCA1 and BRCA2 are BReast CAncer gene 1 and BReast CAncer gene 2. These are tumor suppressor genes – meaning they prevent tumors from growing in the body. A mutation in these genes increases the risk of several cancers, most notably breast and ovarian cancer.

My Mission

I have recently tested positive for the BRCA 1 mutation. My goal is to help other women who also test positive and take you on my journey through detection, surgery, and everything in between.
